About me (professional):
Eric Ludwig, CFP®, is the CEO and a Wealth Manager/Financial Planner at Stockbridge Private Wealth Mangement (SPWM), a botique financial planning firm. In his role, he works in partnership with clients to help them meet their retirement goals by providing ongoing financial planning and investment advice. He primarily works with pre-retirees and retirees that want to achieve financial freedom and maintain their lifestyle throughout retirement.
Through his work as a professor of Retirement Income and Executive Director of The Center for Retirement Income at The American College of Financial Services, he develops research and solutions to help improve financial capability, well-being, and retirement outcomes for investors. Prior to co-founding Stockbridge with his father in 2014, Eric was a VP Wealth Management at a large financial institution, where he managed $100 million in client assets. Prior to working in the wealth management industry, Eric was an airline pilot with American Airlines.
Eric has spoken at several academic and industry conferences across the country and even internationally (to Financial Planners in Canada and Australia).
At US Bancorp Investments, Eric was nominated for Finanacial Advisor of the Year (2013), Inner Circle (2013), President’s Club (2013, 2014), and won the Horizon Award (2013).
Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Daytona Beach, FL, a master’s degree of finance from the University of Colorado, a certificate in financial planning from the University of St. Thomas Opus School of Business – St. Paul, MN, and a doctorate in personal financial planning program from Kansas State University.
Eric is also on the Peer Review Board for the Financial Planning Association’s Journal of Financial Planning, and in a similar role as a conference presentation reviewer at the American Council of Consumer Interests.
When Eric isn’t working or researching, he’s probably out for a jog, enjoying the outdoors with his daughter, wife and dog, or rooting for one the great Wisconsin sports teams.
